Evolve Robotic Hull Cleaning Hits New Milestones
At Evolve Robotic Hull Cleaning, we believe that the future of maritime maintenance isn't just about high-tech drones—it’s about providing a price point that finally solves a real-world problem. When the biggest names in government and global industry start calling, it’s a clear sign that the market has been waiting for a more efficient, cost-effective way to keep hulls clean.
Proving Our Concept with the NSW Police Force
Last week, we were honoured to be invited to
to conduct a Proof of Concept (PoC) on a 20-metre NSW Police Force vessel.
These vessels are the backbone of coastal safety, often required to hit speeds of up to 35 knots during search and rescue or law enforcement operations. For a 20m patrol boat, even a small amount of marine growth can significantly increase drag, slowing response times and burning through taxpayer-funded fuel. Our robotic technology demonstrated how we can maintain peak hull performance without the need for expensive, time-consuming haul-outs.
Expanding Horizons: Rio Tinto and Western Australia
The momentum didn't stop on the East Coast. We are excited to announce that Rio Tintoin Western Australia has reached out to Evolve, inviting us to submit a formal proposal for vessel maintenance across their large fleet of tugs.
In the high-stakes world of iron ore shipping at ports like Dampier and Cape Lambert, tugboats are critical infrastructure. Keeping these workhorses efficient is a massive undertaking. The fact that a global leader like Rio Tinto is looking at our robotic solution for their tug fleet underscores a shift in the industry: companies are moving away from traditional, costly maintenance cycles toward proactive, in-water cleaning that saves both time and money.
Why the Industry is Choosing Evolve
If major industry players and government agencies are taking notice, it’s because Evolve represents a critical price point that solves a long-standing headache.
- Cost-Effectiveness: With services starting from $8 per foot, we provide a professional alternative that can save thousands compared to dry docking.
- Fuel Efficiency: A clean hull can reduce drag by up to 15%, directly slashing fuel costs and carbon emissions—a key priority for modern fleets.
- Extended Asset Life: Our gentle robotic cleaning protects expensive antifouling coatings rather than scrubbing them away, extending the time between major repaints.
- Safety & Transparency: By using Keelcrab drone technology, we eliminate the risks associated with human divers and provide clients with high-definition video reports of their hull's condition.
From local boat owners to global mining giants, the message is clear: efficient hull maintenance is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. We are proud to be leading the charge from our bases in NSW and beyond.
